If you follow the repair procedures for most viruses, from about any anti-virus vendor, they will tell you to disable Windows System Restore. When you disable Windows System Restore, all restore information is deleted, including any viruses.
This is because computer viruses, Spy-ware, trojans, etc. can lurk in the System Restore locations. You wouldn't want to ever restore these infected files.
A friend of mine recently had her computer fixed because she had spyware slowing down her computer. When she got her computer back she said it was still very slow so she gave it to the same guy to have it fixed. She got it back again and it was still slow. I told her it was probably the norton internet security the guy had installed the first time he fixed it. Not knowing anything about computers, she simply told me it was what the guy told her she needed for her computer to work right. I called him and explained to him that he had not fixed the problem he had been asked to fix the second time; that we would not be wanting the program he had installed. He said to me that he was sure the computer had become infected, again causing the problem. When I explained to him that I had already run scans but no virus was found he said that conventional scans do not find every known virus because windows is using some files that can not be checked by the scan. I did not know that. is that true?
Yes, it's true that some files cannot be detected by normal scans. Now, new viruses are embedded as rootkits or run at kernel level where normal anti-virus softwares cannot detect them.

you can either reinstall your virus protector assuming you have one... if not get one quickly every time you boot it spreads and moves around (I've heard) if you have a virus protector and it is out dated do a update if you have done all that.. the only thing I can think of is take it to the shop and have them reinstall for you... if you can do that or don't know how reformat your hard drive... if none of that is good for you... get a new computer like I did.. lol and site your security on HIGH! and that way you will know at ALL times what is going in and out of your PC OH and btw... you don't have to get a complete system... just buy the tower... you already have a monitor... the tower will come packed already with the mouse..keyboard.. and speakers... I got mine for little over $300

First of all, you have to find out exactly what kind of malware is infecting you.
Go to http://www.infectedornot.com and try the new Panda tools (Panda NanoScan and Panda TotalScan) for free. The site is owned by Panda and it is part of their new "Infected or Not?" campaign. They let you try their new stuff, and they get to collect statistics ot be used in their awareness campaign.
P.S. If these suggestions work, this was not a virus. Blame this one on a Microsoft boo-boo with an Automatic Update.

You should be safe if you adjust to these habits:
1 Do not download free softwares off the Internet, especually from source you don't trust. However, you can download itunes from apple.com for free. Yes, apple.com is a trusted source for example.
2 Do not open attachments sent to you by strangers in your email in box.

I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following link. http://www.computeractive.co.uk/ On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps.

well, you never know, just to be safe, have firewalls on, and make sure you have virus protection... during the downalod for gamespy, if it asks you to allow firewall to unblock that website, click yes, don't let me download this or something like that... but dont go to websites ur not sure about unless you have firewall, and virus protection...

OK. First of all it depends on what you believe, personally, being a Catholic and also not a total idiot and blind to fact, I know that evolution is real. Now, you can say that evolution is merely a tool of God, that is fine. That is not at odds with religious teaching that God created everything. In fact, some people say that evolution is so amazingly intricate that somthing like God must be behind it.
