Hand sanitizers are a very good means of killing germs, viruses, and bacteria on your hands. It is an alcohol base, this is how it is so effective.
Spare me.

Depends on the material used.

The hospital standard ones will kill most viruses, except the most hardy - viruses tend not to survive well in the open, which is why many require fluid-fluid contact. Most bacteria will be killed or degraded by them, there are some notable exceptions through - C Diff most importantly.

Dunno about fungi and helminths though.
No. Hand sanitizers only effective against bacteria.
