Its somewhat both. Since you are downloading files off of limewire, there is always the chance that you could download a virus or trogan. But that chance is very slim as long as you watch what you are downloading. Make certain anything you are downloading is a MP3, MPEG, AVI or WAV or some other form of media file. Ive used it for years, as far as i know ive never got a virus from it. But there always is the slight chance it could happen.

But really, you stand the risk of downloading a virus everytime you flip on your computer and start surfing around the net. The best thing you can do is make certain you have a good and up to date anti-virus software running.

Limewire does not give you viruses. Viruses are given to you by some of the files downloaded by using Limewire.

Just be careful when downloading files from Limewire. Use your virus scanner or if you don't have one, make sure to get one! Scan every file you download for virus's before you use them!
If you downlod files that are interpeted by your computer, than yes you can get viruses.
The things you download from it might but not Limewire. Just be smart while downloading. I haven't gotten anything yet.
