The only way that it couldn't get viruses (100% sure) is if it's not connected to the interent, and if it never is connected to a device that has had contact with the internet somehow (USB flashdrives, external hardrives, networked w/ other computers, etc.)

Yes its a common myth macs dont get viruses because most viruses are made for WIndows(PC) because its a more common verison of a OS than Macs.
YES, THEY CAN.THAT'S BECAUSE THERE ISN'T A COMPUTER IN THE WORLD THAT IS TOTALLY VIRUS PROOF, IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE ONE THAT IS BECAUSE MORE AND MORE TYPES OF VIRUS' ARE BEING CREATED.
