I found these files and when I open them it shows a command prompt box and then says C:\da.exe The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction. CS:0563:01dcd......(some code) Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. There are some other ones like this too. Should I delete them or keep them?

Can you right click and bring up your antivirus to check the files?
Have you run an a/v system scan?
They could and You make sure that they are not.
You run a virus scanner and such programs as adware removers. You do not remove files without knowing what they are.
They might be needed by programs or OS.
The exe is at an unusual location. That is all. Service exes started
