Will i get less viruses and trojans if i use linux?

yes

Will i get less viruses and trojans if i use linux?antivirus downloads

You won't get any trojans and viruses if you use linux because most of these worms and viruses have been developed for windows operating systems and not linux

If you have a lot of problems with viruses and trojans under windoze, and you do not bother figuring out how to avoid them , that is not good. You will get no viruses or trojans if you use linux. BUT, you will not be happy with Linux. It will be too difficult, it won't run the programs you want to run, and it will be a bad experience.
Never say never but it's extremely less possible.
trust me you wont get the first one I had all my boxes trashed using windows and I surf any where I want on the net for months now without a single hicup. If you are realy worried run from a live CD only it simply cant be changed in any way
you will get none if u use a Mac
yes for now linux has way less viruses and trojans, but i bet in a couple years or so there will be more, so just protect your self....

linux is better if you ask me any ways all around better....
YES linux cant get infected with anything, virues/worm/spyware..and so and all the bad code is ritten for windows, as thats what most ppl use.
you will get slightly less with linux but only due to the increased smiplicity, however switch to apple mac and you will never have to worry about that problem
Bluntly, you will get fewer viruses and trojans if you take more responsibility for what is on your hard drive. Windows often makes this difficult, with their validation policies, strange formats and so forth. You can still do it but it's difficult. Linux is much more straightforward about it, and while Ubuntu is by no means perfect, it is in security that most of the differences between it and other distros exist. You don't have to be a genius to compute safely. And Ubuntu makes it harder not to than to do so.

Nobody, though, is going to wave a magic wand and just make viruses go away. I not only run ClamAV on my Debian system, I found a virus on my last scan. You'll get fewer viruses if you switch to Linux and you take more responsibility for your files than Windows makes easy for you, but you can definitely switch to Linux and not do so -- and you will find that Linux having no viruses or trojans is a myth.
Yes. Our school switched their computers from Windows Xp to Linux because of some terrible issues concerning viruses. If you ask me Ubuntu is the best for you if you are new to Linux. Actually, Mac and Windows can also catch more viruses.
