How do i make my win xp more secure from hackers ,viruses and unauthorised usage?

i have internet cafe and daily there is some virus attack resulting in my formattin drive again despite having antivirus installed. plus i need to stop unnecessary downloading. can anyone tell me how to do that. only secure downloading should be allowed. how do i do that?

First of all switch all XP accounts to non-administrative.

This will not allow your users to install programs that can be unsafe.

Use a safer browser than internet explorer, use Opera or firefox and make sure you have pop up stopper enabled.

Use lavasoft adaware/spyware remover and spybot search %26 destroy and keep them both updated, run scans regularly.

Also use ccleaner as this removes all cookies, temp folders etc stored on pc.

All these progs are free to download and use.

You wont ever stop these kind of things completely as the idiots who create them are making new ones all the time.
