I've never had any problems at all and I've been using Torrent sites for years.

The key to this is to use good sites and always read the user comments. I generally don't download torrents without Comments, let other people find out if it's full of viruses before you do and you can't go too wrong.

It's never 100% safe and never will be, so always be careful.

Check the sizes seem normal too, if you want an album of music for example and it's like 85kb in total size you know that something isn't right so it's not worth the risk.

not 100% safe. You are taking a chance anytime you download a torrent file or any file from a P2P site.

if it's not from a source that you are %100 sure it's safe then there is a chance it's not. torrents are a breeding ground for viruses, malware and adware. By looking for ones that others are seeding or leeching as another user suggested isn't really a good sign because all of these files are programmed to spread, and the latest ones have been programmed to seek out torrent files or the open ports associated with them and spread along with them. So you have to ask yourself do you think that every computer that has touched this file at one point has been clean or had a user who knew how to clean the file?
