How do ppl get viruses, does someone send it to you? and why would anyone do that?

yes, its possible to be sent a virus in an email, since any type of file can be attached to it. as to why anyone would want to do that.. well, there are all sorts of people out there, and computer nerds that see the spread of one of their viruses through a mention in a website or newspaper, as a beautiful thing. im not joking! less commonplace are viruses found on suspicious websites, but they are out there. more common places to find viruses are through file sharers, eg you download terminator 4 and run it to find out its just one big virus thats just started deleting files on your computer, and it will not stop! most viruses are usually fairly small files, so more likely to be found as "crack" or "key" programs that people try and use to override limitations in demo software they have downloaded legally. just to remind you that you should always have an antivirus program installed and up to date on your system, regardless of whether you share or download files or not, as anybody can be a victim
