depends on your computer, if its very fast one, then you can, else you will slow down the two tasks, antivirus and what ever you want to run, I prefer not to run any thing, because when you run something its files starts to be protected thus antivirus can't check it
While you scan for viruses, can you open another window and play games or do something?moto guzzi

While you scan for viruses, can you open another window and play games or do something?norton internet security 2008
Yes, but it will make the scan go slower.
Usually you can minimize the virus scan window and continue using your computer, although the scan tends to slow your computer down a bit.
yes but the scan will take forever
You can continue to work on your computer while doing a virus scan.
However, you will find it slows down the system some.
I wouldn't try gaming while running a scan but, surfing the net or emailing would be fine.
That depends on your system. If you have at least 1GB of memory and a modern processor, yes. If you have an older system, it will not be able to do anything well while a scan is running. It also depends on what kind of game you meant, like some online games would be fine, playing Half Life 2, that's another story. If you have a dual core processor, then absolutely you can do both at the same time. The scanner will run on one core and the game on the other but note both will require access to the hard drive so the game may load slower and the lag between levels will be slower but yes, it is possible if your system is up to the task.
Yes
