Is there a reliable website to have my computer scanned for viruses?

I recently was dumb to download a program that gives smiley faces from facebook. Since then every few minutes I get a new page that starts running along with a message to download some programs, and my computer is getting slower and slower. I don't want to purchase an anti-virus program at the moment, but is there a quick fix in the meantime?

I have used http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/ before as an online scanner.

There is also free virus software you can download and use. My brother uses AVG over norton which is a free download.

You can also try this site:

http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/index.php

Requires Internet Explorer - Vista users right click IE and Run as Administrator or the online scanner will not work properly.

1. Check the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.

2. Click Start

3. When asked, allow the activex control to install

4. Click Start

5. Make sure that the option Remove found threats and the option Scan unwanted applications is check marked.

6. Click Scan

7. Wait for the scan to finish
AVG is the best, it's free and it updates everyday. Also they have a spyware program too. You need a spyware scanner, more than 1, that also could be slowing down your computer.
