Why do hackers send viruses to mess up computers?

I understand the hackers trying to get personal info and credit card numbers but what about the jerks that just want to mess up other peoples computers for no reason other....I just don't understand the reasoning behind it

Anyone who breaks these rules is not a hacker. They are a criminal.
