yes, I believe that some software companies do engage in such acts. You have to be careful though!

how else do you think they can get the cure before the viri hit the net. face it they are in the bussiness to make money and that is the fastest way to ensure their product has a market.
I've always suspected that especially when they come out with a fix within hours. How better to sell antivirus programs that kill hard to kill viruses when they write them themselves.
Absolutely.Take Norton for instance.I payed out for it for a few years.Every time my subscription was due it would find a virus that needed cleaning out.Then I read on here a few more similar stories so yes I think they do manifacture viruses from time to time.
