with the wi-fi that the ps3 has can someone even hack into a ps3?
Can the ps3 get viruses like a PC?ktm
No, However Technically a proficient hacker could hack the gigabyte Ethernet port, but would find no tangible access point beyond that to interact with the core system because its operating system is contained in a Read Only Firmware EPROM, Not on a storage device like a computer. A computer has to give flexibility to the user, a means to install software that interacts with hardware, this is the security flaw in a computer. A consoles System is proprietary and closed off from the user, except for game and some user data that is stored on the Storage device, but still the core doesn't interconnect the storage drive and the network facilities together in a console to be accessed externally.
Can the ps3 get viruses like a PC?nortan
if someone realy wanted to they could but seeing as there is no real point in doing so they wouldnt bother. also they have to contend with an entire core of its CPU as one of its cores is dedicated to security and OS.
Any computer device can get a virus...even iPods! but again there is no point as for the PS3 to get a virus it has to be specialy made for the PS3 so technicaly gaming consoles are the safest web browsers as they are not affected by spyware or viruses
