Can technical support remove viruses by opening the hardrive and checking inside?norton antivirus

Physically opening it will destroy the hard drive. So no. Remember that a hard drive is hardware and a virus is software. Its a program. The only way to delete a virus is to run a cleaning program. Opening the hard drive will damage it.

A hard drive is a disk that uses magnets to write and read data. As you know magnets have two poles. If you assign a 0 to one pole and a 1 to the other you essentially get computer code. The stylus that reads the magnets on the disk is less than half a hair away from the magnets. Any difference will damage the hard drive. A hard drive is protected by antistatic materials to protect it form static. Opening it will certainly destroy it (or at least corrupt data).

P.S. The best virus removers are NOD32, but its very expensive and AVG by Grisoft. Its a bit cheaper and works very well. Norton will freeze your PC. It is very CPU intensive and a Mcafee just doesn't work.

Viruses are simple to remove and most programs have a wizard that scans and removes viruses.
