Using any P2P program is very risky. The purveyors of malware put a lot of files there and piggyback their malware onto them.
You also have to be concerned by copyright and piracy. A lot of folks have paid thousands of dollars in penalties.
Risky Business.

Many files people share contain viruses. If you have a good anti-virus program on your computer, you don't have to worry much. Music files are usually safe, unless they're fake. You could tell by the small file size and wrong file format. Software files are more likely to be infected.
Stuff happens though. If your system isn't backed up or you don't have the knowledge to reinstall your OS and start from scratch if worse comes to worse... you should probably avoid file sharing.
If you do try LimeWire... The first thing you should download is LimeWire Pro. It's the pay version that works better. Ironic that you can download it for free on LimeWire... LOL
yea i have it..the good thing is theres a lot you can download from it.......but the bad thing is it has very slow speeds....its better for music....some files will be infected but if you have good anti spyware like....superantivirus or avg then if it is harmfull ur anti virus should warn you....mind you though i have been downloading music and no irus for me yet.......try downloading of sites........
