Start - run - msconfig - startup - you will all application who start with startup search the name of the virus and desable from the startup and restart after reastart go to the location of the virus ( c:/windows/system32/...) and remove it

sometime it well be hide and they desable to enter to the msconfig

But, there are removal tools for them. symantec.com and search for your virus name...
