Yes, clean it with a good anti virus software

Try Avast www.avast.com, download the Home version, set it to scan when computer reboot.

Then run some anti spyware software (ie. Adaware) to clean out the junk, should improve your speed by a good margin

the best thing u can do is wipe the hole system and giv it a fresh start wiv ur product recovery CD because ull neva get rid of all the legacy then install F-Secure dont go 4 Norton cuz that only lets u no uv got a virus and dont get rid of it while F-Secure does

1. Click Start %26gt; My Computer %26gt; View System Information %26gt; System Restore and turn off System Restore by checking the box that says "turn off System Restore on all drives".

2. Download install and run AVG free anti-virus from http://www.grisoft.com (totally free)

3. Download, install and run AVG free anti-spyware from http://www.ewido.com (also totally free)
