Why did people invent computer viruses?

I mean...It's just not necessary.

Why did people invent computer viruses?virus protection

Because there are people out there so insecure, so bored, so insensitive, so selfish, so cowardly, so immature that they think they have to take out their aggression on other people. There will always be those people. Thankfully there are some protections from them but you have to install them and keep them current.

There are various reasons since there are various kinds of malicious software out there, adware, spyware, Trojans, Internet/e-mail worms, system and macro viruses (virii).

It is hard to know who exactly came up with the computer virus and for what reason. The most popular one that I know is a disgruntle programmer who got let go from his job or passed over for raise, promotion, etc. and to take revenge on his boss/company, he came up with a code to cause trouble.

These days, it seems most malicious codes are created by intelligent yet mis-guided teens or so-called professional marketing firms for commercial purposes.

Even though these infections are annoying if not costly and damaging, you have to admit, a lot of people got to learn a ton more about computers and their own system by means of these malware (malicious software) infections.
because they have the knowledge to do so.....any computer programmer/ software designer can really.....but only the ones that want to cause harm do...
Because they are loser geeks that have nothing better to do.
I've always thought that the first one was made by the government, to shut down another government's computer system.

People just like to be jackasses.
Some do it for a "thrill", other have made them so they can get personal information from your computer, including credit card numbers. Some infect your e-mail program and send out spam and phishing sites to people in your address book. Their are probably a lot more reasons. I agree, its not necessary.
