Should i scan for viruses weekly? Why is it important to scan frequently?internet security software
My system runs 24/7 and my anti-virus updates daily and scans daily. It picks up an odd Trojan occasionally. It comes down to how safe you're surfing. If you visit dubious sites and downloading unknown programs and plug-ins you're asking for trouble. Scan all non media files. Surf safely, scan as often as you think fit. Good luck!

It goes on what AV your using - I use Nod32 a good AV therefore i only do a full scan once a month if I was using a poor AV like AVG then i would scan every day.
Why is it important - your pc wont run to great with a virus.
Yes you should the importance of frequent scan is just important as updating your Virus Definitions as the range of new viruses that are created each day is really big..so you better watch out your system they say A stitch in time save nine :P
if u do lot of internet browsing or if u exchange data a lot then it is advisable to scan ur system once a week completely to avoid surprises later. otherwise weekly scanning is not recommended.
Viruses will slow down your pc performance and destroyed some of the data, so is important to scan weekly
Millions of viruses are made every hour. One of it's effect when it enters your Desktop or Laptop, is the corruption of your OS, I experienced the corruption on my computer, and it's pure chaos!!!! If you continue asking this obvious question, I'll let you experience the corruption and Trojan viruses I can offer you. Just tell me.
Scan once every month at least, your first scan should be a thorough one and then after that you can run quick scans (unless you change your system in a major way or find it running poorly)
